Abidjan – Ivory Coast
GANDHI is currently bringing forth three projects in this area:
- the realization of a listening centre for women that undergo ill-treatments and violence;
- the construction of a school for 250 children;
- the starting of a centre for the prevention of AIDS.
The aim is to provide the abandoned adolescents of the city with a professional school that includes lodging and board and especially an adequate formation so that they can properly enter in the working world at the end of the two years of schooling.
Refugee camp of Shimelba – Ethiopia
In 2005 the refugee camp of Shimelba was supplied with a flour mill provided by GANDHI. Further more, it has been and is the beneficiary of the “milk project” thanks to which the children can now grow and nourish themselves better.
Other than these two projects, already functioning and under constant expert eyes, GANDHI is busy in other activities, such as, and most importantly, the “long distance adoption” of Eritrean children, and the “older peoples project”.
