Maggiori dettagli...

GANDHI is a non-governmental organization founded in 2003 at Abidjan, Ivory Coast. It was founded by a group of private African citizens (doctors, university professors, freelancers) with the specific aim to raise the public awareness of the problems concerning the total abandonment of children and adolescents and of the ill conditions of women.
Gandhi presently supports numerous projects in different countries of Africa: 1
  • In Ivory Coast, at Abidjan three projects are currently active: the realization of a listening centre for women that undergo ill-treatments and violence; the construction of a school for 250 children; the starting of a centre for the prevention of AIDS.
  • In Sudan, at Kassala, is in construction a professional school which will provide, to 70 kids without families, lodging and board and a preparation for their insertion in the working world in two years time.
  • In Ethiopia, Gandhi assists the refugee camp of Shimelba. In 2005 the camp was equipped with an electric flour mill that is the only source of sustenance for the refugees.
The C.A.P.S.E. (Centre of Assistance to Eritrean refugees in Sudan and Ethiopia), recognized in 2000 as an ONLUS, is a charitable association that since many years takes care of the problems regarding the Eritrean condition. Some of the projects supported are the long distance adoption of poor children in different African countries, school adoption, the building of schools in various areas of Sudan.
The two organizations unite in this occasion, with the common objective of bringing aid to the Eritrean refugees of the camp of Shimelba.
